We had our first snow of the winter last week -- Carter sure got a kick out of it...

Some Funny Observations

The little man is turning into quite the piece of work of late... among his current mannerisms include:

1. Thinking about a question you ask him, and then, in the nicest way possible, informing you "No" with a polite shake of the head;

2. Repeating EVERY word you say to him -- some spot-on (apple, boat, train, pizza), others not just yet

3. Upon letting him know that we were going to meet his friend "Andrew" at Chick-Fil-A for lunch, basically saying "Andrew" non-stop for 45 minutes until he got there

4. No longer getting out of his bed in the morning until you come great him

5. Treating the bathtub as his own personal swimming pool -- including some floating on his back tonite

6. A classic Daddy & Carter breakfast this morning -- Perrier, waffles, Wall Street Journal, and a winter-hat

Cooking with Carter

Our little guy is quite the foodie -- who knew that he'd be so interested in the front-end?

Christmas 2008

Carter had an absolute blast -- if he doesn't totally get the idea of Santa Claus, he definitely gets the idea of tearing the paper off of gifts and saying "Ooooh" when the paper is off (regardless of what the gift is.) We spent Christmas Eve and some of Christmas Day with the Zagols, and then had the Lange's down on the 27th to Phoenixville -- Carter was his normal energetic self!

Some key highlight gifts included:
*Trampoline
*Dump truck
*Gas pump
*Leapfrog Laptop Computer
*Kettler Tricycle
*His own Dyson Vacuum Cleaner
*Lots of ELMO Stuff

Philadelphia Zoo

Carter took his first trip to the Philadelphia Zoo today --- he had a great time. Really loved the snakes, gorillas, elephants & giraffes. I can't remember better weather in Philadelphia in November in the 6 years I've lived in the Philly area....

Carter had a great nite -- he was a golfer and had a great time hanging out with friends and neighbors, etc.

Getting Ready for Halloween -- 10.30.08

Last nite was "Jack O Lantern" night and Carter is ready to go! From carving the pumpkins, to pulling out all of the gunk, to wanting to eat the gunk -- he thought the whole thing was pretty cool.

Apple Picking -- 10.25.08

For the second year in a row, we went up to Frecon Farms in Boyertown, PA, and had a great time going apple (and pear) picking. It was pretty amazing to see how much changes in a year with Carter -- last year at this time , he was smiling away in his stroller and just chilling out. Now, he is a man on a mission and has developed such an amazing personality.

Pumpkin Picking

The three of us went to Yaeger's Farm in Chester Springs today for a hay-ride and some pumpkin picking. Carter loved exploring the different fields --- it's funny to think about how different he was a year ago, just hanging out in his stroller, and now, he's running the show!

"Yeah... I'm picking pumpkins. What's it to you?"

"Hmm... where to go next?"

Carter's First Haircut

Last Monday, we decided that it was time for Carter to get a bit of a trim -- too many comments from people we barely know!

Here's the before:

Here's where we went -- "Gentlemen's Choice", of course.

And, here's the finished product. He's all set and ready to go!
